Kevin Michael VerKamp's art is a vibrant tapestry woven from a life transformed. His journey began conventionally enough, with a childhood interest in art giving way to other pursuits. But a yearning for something deeper led him, in his late thirties, to the heart of South America. There, amidst the ancient traditions of shamanism and the profound experiences facilitated by Ayahuasca, VerKamp rediscovered his artistic voice. He describes it as a "third eye opening," a spiritual awakening that infused his work with a newfound depth and purpose. His canvases explode with color and intricate design, reflecting the interconnectedness of all things and the rich tapestry of consciousness he encountered.
